Ready

I don't think I've shown you this before. It's my art journal entry from last year. I was ready and things went wrong. And although I thought I was ready then I'm not now so I guess the universe had other plans for me. Still figuring out what that plan is though.

I think this was one of the things I wanted to include in my workshop that was supposed to happen last year and then it didn't.

I have a different concept now but I'm not gonna talk about it because it didn't go so well the last time I did. :)

Do you feel like you’re lost sometimes? Lost in your life and have no idea where you’re going?

I mean, I never was the kind of person that needed a plan or a goal but I always seemed to enjoy the journey. Right now, the journey is not happening either. It’s like I’m just standing there being lost. It’s a weird feeling.

And I have an ongoing struggle inside me never knowing when to persevere and when to quit. I have a tendency to quit because I believe if it’s supposed to be it will happen no matter what.

But now I don’t know if it’s not supposed to be or I’m not persistent enough. When is it ok to quit?

Third . . . For all of you who haven't heard the news yet, Google is going to disconnect the Google Friend Connect option for all non-Blogger sites on 1. March 2012.

What that means is that we will lose blog followers that are following through something other than Blogger and we will no longer follow them either.

What I don't know is how this is going to effect Google Reader. I read blogs that I'm subscribed to through Google Reader and most of them are linked through Google Friend Connect. Does that mean that when this subscriber option will be disconnected for non-Bloggers, the blogs will also be gone from the Google Reader? If somebody knows, please tell me.:)

All that said, I put up Bloglovin on my sidebar for all the non-Blogger followers that want to keep following my blog. Bloglovin is very much similar to Google Reader.

I know there is Linky Followers available but what I don't like is that you have to manually update your "Last posted date". Meaning that your blog posts don't update automaticaly. So, unless you do it manually your followers won't know you have a new blog post up.

And although Linky Followers has a similar "Blog Reader" it would be a lot of work to manually link all the blogs from my Google Reader. And I don't really like the way it is set up. With Google Reader and Bloglovin you get to read the whole post right there. With Blog Reader you only get a title and then you have to click your way to the blog.

A Whole Lotta Stuff

All My Children, eeee, I mean Pets :)

My fur Babies! :)

A brilliant idea to use watercolors on ordinary paper. Gives you texture in wrinkly kind of way. :)

The Big Cat is Charlie Da Gangster. That’s his typical pose. Staring at something only he sees. :) Yes, he is white with blue eyes and deaf.

In front of him is the Small Dog Kika in her typical pose as well. Her leg lifted when you’re approaching. It’s either to roll herself over on the back to get a belly rub or to randomly scratch herself. It’s somewhat of her nervous tick I guess. It got much better since I got her but at the beginning she was scratching herself nonstop. And it wasn’t the fleas or allergies. It’s just how she copes in stressful situations.

Next is my second favorite Little Lolita. :) We call her Lola. She’s little shy around strangers and unfamiliar noises. She’s also very vocal and can say “mama”. :)

On top of the kitty pile is Gizmo and below him his sister Ajda. They came out of the same mama. Can you believe it? :) That’s their typical pose as well. They are the most spoiled and most dependant on humans. They seek people’s company all the time.

Behind them is the Black Alpha Cat, my all time favorite Roadie. She’s not afraid of anything except the vacuum cleaner. :) But they all run and hide when vacuum cleaner comes out of the storage. She and Murphy next to her on the right are the oldest of the bunch. 11 years in April.

Murphy is the silver tabby and she really does have an M on her forehead. :) She likes Karma, the Big Dog and likes to rub against her.

All of my cats except the Small Cat Bolha are bigger than my Small Dog Kika. Bolha is weird. She prefers dogs over cats and humans. She loves Karma and you’ll probably find her somewhere around her or on top of her. :)

And then there’s Karma, my Big Dog. She’s not really that big but she’s the biggest of the bunch.

On the wall is a “painting” of my beloved Kana who died 2 years ago. She’s my favorite, too. :)

Dear Mr. Black,

Oh my Goodness you won't believe it but I am in Wales right now. I really wish we could meet up somewhere for dinner or just a quick cup of tea. Thank you for the Belgium pralines. They were delicious.:)

We're here in Wales for their annual Eisteddfod festival. You should see the tents, Mr. Black. They are PINK! I don't even care that I don't understand a word they are saying, everything is so magical here. We have the same festival in Australia, too, so it makes me think of home.

We're staying here for the entire eight days and I have no idea where our next stop will be. Take care, Mr. Black.

Today is my birthday!! Man, I'm getting old! :) And it is also my 300th blog post. How cool is that?!

Green eyed Angel - watercolor pencils and india ink pens

ATC is short for Artist Trading Card that is basically a little piece of art. The size is 2,5"x3,5". You can frame them and put them on a wall as a painting or you can collect them in ATC albums.

Then I remembered watching Milliande's videos some time ago and checked them out again. I came up with this.

Hallo from Belgium

Dear Mrs. Tiggy,

I cannot believe we were so close to each other and not know it. We're anchored here in Belgium for the weekend and I'm so confused about their language. It's like they can't decide if they want to speak Dutch or French. I find it hilarious to even order a cup of tea around here. :)

I did manage to go sightseeing. Do you know that peeing boy that is so famous? Well, he's really little. And hidden in a corner of some building. If it wasn't for the other tourists I don't think I would find it.

But I have a surprise for you. There is so much chocolate here in Belgium and I did remember that their pralines are your favorite so I bought you a box. Hope you like them.:)

Not related to art . . . We babysat the neighbours kids yesterday. Four year old girl and two year old boy. They were really well behaved but . . . They poop! And it stinks! I had a pleasure to wipe the 2 yold's tush and I almost threw up. Seriously I gagged about 5 times. I really had to control myself. :)) Can you tell I don't have kids? Do they always stink this bad when they're young? :))

My favorite things

We're having some fun over at The Butterfly Effect with "My favorite things". 1. What is your favorite flower to bring to your enemy’s grave? Honestly I would bring a Sunflower to anyone and everyone on any occasion. That is if I could find one in a flower shop. For some reason they are rarely available. Not that I have a dead enemy. :)
2. What is your favorite bird to dress up as if you were in a parade? Peacock
3. What is your favorite pet quality you’d like to own? Cat's curiosity, dog's eagerness and bird's ability to fly
4. Which one of your favorite celebrities would you marry if you could? Jennifer Aniston and Oprah. I would probably cheat on them with Brad though. :)
5. What is your favorite food to order when your in-laws are paying for the meal? I wish I could say a lobster but I don’t particularly like sea food so probably pasta of some sort. An expensive pasta! :)
6. What is your favorite drink to accidentally spill on a person you like? Pina Colada. The kind that doesn't taste of alcohol but hits you when you get up to go to the bathroom. :)
7. What is your favorite destination to vacation and/or live if you won a million dollars? Kenya and Australia
8. What is your favorite color to wear to your best friend’s wedding? Purple
9. What is your favorite book or/and book character you’d take with you on a lonely island? Pride and Prejudice and probably Jacob to keep me warm at night. :)
10. What is your favorite song to sing in the shower? I don’t need a shower to sing. :) And lately I’ve been singing “Come together” by Yes Sir Boss and Joss Stone

My favorite things

Bonjour from France

 Dear Mr. Black,
I love Pandas! I’m so jealous you got to visit Panda’s sanctuary. Maybe one day I will too. :)

As you can tell by the postcard, I’m writing to you from the beautiful France. Our stay here wasn’t planned either. We were just supposed to be passing by but one of our wagons broke down and we had to stay here over the weekend for it to be fixed.

Of course we had a blast taking little field trips each day and we even went to Louvre to see the Mona Lisa. Frankly, I don’t see what the whole hype is about. It’s behind glass with gazillions tourists trying to take a picture.

And don’t get me started on the Eiffel tower. It was the one thing I wanted to do but couldn’t get on it because the first time it was too windy and the second time there were too many people on it. I was really upset about that.

Bonjour from France

It's all about STEve

You know those Smash Books that are being sold in shops that are basically bunch of scrapbook paper and other junk bound together? Well, I made my own. Two of them actually. :)

Amy inspired me after watching her free live video workshop the other day. It's really so freaking easy it's ridiculous. :) I have so much scrapbook paper laying around that I don't use anymore and this is a great way to use it up. I chose the ugliest papers of the bunch so I won't have trouble painting over it and bound them together.

I actually have the binding machine at home but if you don't, just go to your local copy shop and they'll do it for you.

And this is the first painting in it. Of course inspired by Amy and her FREE workshop called STEve's ARTFIRe. :)

Now I'm off to check out Friday's Party People. :)
